Hatton Textiles are delighted to announce that Wayne Slater will be joining the business in 2012.

Wayne joins Hatton Textiles after a successful career in sales and cabaret over the past 30 years, starting life as red coat entertainer with Butlins, Wayne progressed to become the Entertainments Manager of Butlins flagship hotel in Brighton before moving into sales. After nearly 10 years selling and designing kitchens Wayne returned to the entertainment industry to fulfil his life-long ambition of being a cabaret performer.

Wayne has travelled the UK and Europe as one of the UK’s top comedy speciality acts and his act ‘El loco’ has been showcased at events including the Edinburgh festival.

Hatton Textiles Business Development Manager, Alex Blest, “we are delighted that Wayne is joining the team, his experience of sales and engaging with people through his cabaret act is an exciting combination of skills that will see him help drive sales forward in 2012”.

Wayne, a keen sports fan, will focus on the development of Hatton Textiles EVENT range of products for 2012, which are targeted at the sports industry, including bespoke beach, gym and golf towels as well as sports socks, hats, scarves and beanies.

Hatton have had an exciting year in 2011 with a range of new products being launched, including the photographic quality digital print towel and the ultra-absorbent and lightweight Microfibre towel. These new lines coincide with expanding into Europe, with the opening an office in Turkey in the summer of 2011, and is proof that Hatton Textiles continue to be one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of woven products in the UK and Europe.

It is only fitting that our bespoke Jacquard Woven towels are named after such an eminently successful Knight of the Realm. Both products embrace passion with quality that will readily reflect the desired perception of your brand and business!

Over the last 25 years we have produced bespoke woven towels for Golf resorts and luxury hotels and some of the world’s favourite private labels. The name of Sir Christopher Hatton and Hatton Textiles can be found on towels from the UK to America, Dubai to Hong Kong, and Europe to Australia.

Sir Christopher Hatton, born in 1540, was a handsome man who as a dancer and bodyguard obviously knew how to swing his hips to the envy of any golfer! Golf however was in its infancy at the time, still banned on Sundays and played only by the select few, and the concept of a golf towel was a long way off. Not the world we now know, with some of the most famous landcapes and views in the world having been created by golf courses, many of which have a golf or Event Towel bearing the name!

As a visionary, Sir Christopher Hatton invested some of his immense wealth in exploration, to the point where Sir Francis Drake named his vessel, The Golden Hind after Hatton’s coat of arms in recognition of the commitment shown. Those travelling the seas today on cruises around the world do so in the utmost luxury, many with beach, batch, shower, hand and spa towels and robes named after the great man!

Hatton Garden, the world’s largest Diamond market was named after Sir Christopher, and so it is with a bright future we build on his successes with our own products, offering diligence, quality, attention to detail, global distribution, stocking programmes, dedicated account management and superior purchasing power to enable Hatton Textiles to become your partner for bespoke textiles.

From 200 woven golf towels to ‘000s of bespoke towels and robes for resorts and hotel groups we are able to tailor our solution to meet your demands.

Despite the sad death of Europe’s greatest ever golfer, Seve, 2011 has been another great year for European Golf. 2 major winners from Northern Ireland and Luke Donald and Lee Westwood fighting it out for World number 1 status. 2011 has also been another great year for Hatton Textiles, manufacturers of the EVENT golf towel, and as the season draws to a close Hatton announce the latest new product to their range in anticipation of the 2011/12 season.

Technology in golf is helping golfers of all levels improve their game and prolong their enjoyment of the sport with the likes of Power caddies and Sky Caddies, but it is still the case that one of the most important pieces of kit a golfer requires is their golf towel. Hatton textiles and the Event Golf towel has been at the forefront of the golfing community for over 25 years with their woven cotton towels and this Autumn sees the launch of the EVENT Microfibre Golf towel.

Microfibre is the latest fabric to be used for golf towels and for very good reasons. Microfibre technology picks up dirt and moisture, holding it in the cloth, resulting in cleaner, dryer surface and enhanced player performance. At 3-4 times more absorbent than cotton, microfibre remains light even when wet and provides a great alternative to cotton. It dries quicker than cotton and will not pull, snag or fade in colour. It is lightweight and takes up less space than the cotton alternative.

Microfibre Golf towels are quickly becoming the golf towel of choice among the world’s best players and have shown up on the winner’s bag in all the major tours and majors including: the U.S. Open, The Masters, The PGA Championship, WGC Championship, Evian Masters and the PGA and LPGA Tour Championships.

Hatton has launched a range of 5 colour ways in their Microfibre towel, available tri folded or flat with grommet and Karabiner Hook, to add to the ever growing and ever successful Event Terry and Velour towels. Microfibre is priced from as little as £1.10 per unit (trade price) and with minimums from 24 pieces this offers a great alternative to the classic Cotton towel.

For more information on Microfibre Golf towels contact Alex Blest, Business Development Manager at Hatton Textiles on 01392 412061 or email alex@hattontextiles.co.uk.

Having already launched the most realistic photographic quality Digital Print Towels into the UK earlier this year Alex Blest, Business Development manager at Hatton Textiles, talks us through the latest range of modern towels and robes being launched by one of the UK’s favourite manufacturers.

Over the last 25 years Hatton Textiles have been pioneers in just textiles, and are now embracing the future by looking at manmade and environmentally conscious textiles and fabrics with Microfibre being the first of those to be introduced to our ever expanding range of products.

Microfibre is made from 100% Polyester and constructed through a process called warp knitting, a family of knitting methods in which the yarn zigzags along the length of the fabric.

At 3-4 times more absorbent than cotton, microfibre remains light even when wet and provides a great alternative to cotton. It dries quicker than cotton and will not pull, snag or fade in colour. It is lightweight and takes up less space than the cotton alternative.

From an environmental and health perspective microfibre helps reduce energy costs as it will come out of a washing machine spin cycle almost dry, reducing the need for tumble drying and it does not hold bacteria in the same way as cotton.

Launching with a choice of five colourways, Black, White, Bitter Chocolate, Red and Hot Pink, in four sizes, from hand towel to bath sheet, not forgetting the super soft and comfy Bath Robes, the range provides a complete package for Spas and hotels looking for the most up to date range of textiles, as well as offering a new range of concepts for the corporate marketplace. The range can be decorated with appliques, embroidery, rubber welds as well as bespoke labels. Going forward, Hatton Textiles are also considering options to introduce the Microfibre towel to the successful Event golf range.

Hatton Textiles International Ltd based in Exeter has further extended its manufacturing capabilities and product range by opening offices in Denizli, Turkey.

As one of the UK’s most prominent Towel manufacturers with clients, across Europe, ranging from St Andrews Links golf course to Harrods and Slazenger to West Bromwich Albion, Hatton Textiles has traditionally worked with approved manufacturers and mills across Europe to maintain competitive pricing, quality of product and effective lead times.

These 3 parameters are key focuses for the expansion in to Turkey where Hatton Textiles will be adding leisure wear including t-shirts, fleeces, polo shirts, hoodies and sweat shirts as well as Rotary printed towels and bed linen to their core range of bespoke products.

The office which is initially employing Dee Pascoe as Sourcing and Quality Manager will ensure that communication with all approved suppliers is seamless and consistent. Dee who moved from Cornwall to Turkey some 20 years ago has worked as a quality manager for Retail buyers since her move. Her skills and local knowledge ensure that the best suppliers are found for each element of production from the raw materials to the finished packaging.

Richard King, Sales Director of Hatton textiles says; “in all the areas that we operate we ensure that we have specialist and bi-lingual members of the team to work with our suppliers. Dee’s knowledge of textiles and more importantly the Turkish Textiles industry has given me the confidence in our ability to add these new products to our range and develop it further as we approve suppliers. Many companies attempt to source from Europe and beyond but few have the quality control in place that we now have”.

With regards to their growth plans Richard comments; “Hatton Textiles will always be a specialist in woven products, however this new development will allow us to organically grow our existing clients and support new campaigns in the promotions industry which is seen as a key area for our future growth”.

Turkey has long been seen as central to the textiles industry on a global basis, due to their efficiency and competitive prices, however as with any cost sensitive bespoke products it is essential that controls are in place to deliver on a suppliers promises and this trust is hugely important to Hatton Textiles as they embark on the next steps of their growth plan.

In the short time since Dee has opened the office benefits have already been felt with samples being arranged and sent within 24 hours allowing Hatton Textiles to win a substantial order for sports socks, and pre-production samples being approved on site at the factory for a quick turnaround order for towels that were needed for a launch date. Dee is keen to sing the praises of her ‘home town’ which may be many miles from Cornwall but still benefits from that ‘can do’ attitude towards excellence.

2010 has seen a vast increase in the demand for unusual colours and colour combinations in the textiles industry mostly due to exciting new fashion trends and the need for increased brand identity on all sporting accessories. UK based Hatton Textiles Int Ltd has responded by improving on their already large stock of colours launching the new 2011 Event range of colours.

The main unique selling point for Hatton is the Event range’s massive portfolio of stocked yarns; 80 stock yarn colours. This enables designers and corporations to present exciting new tailor-made combinations and when necessary adhere to their companies strict brand guidelines.

In addition to the very strong range of core colours in the stocked 2011 Event range, the minimum order quantity for woven towels has come down to just 160 pieces (which can be divided into 4 colours), addressing any small order issues that may have been encountered by buyers and marketing professionals.

The ‘2011 Event Range’ is specifically geared towards giving as much choice as possible to the sports industry, corporate entertainment and golfing in particular. The company is confident that they can provide pretty much any combination of colours, on their towels, with woven or embroidered logos.

By offering a custom range of colours on very short minimum order quantities Hatton is confident they can more than maintain their excellent reputation for high quality and a quick turnaround.

“It’s not just what you put on your back that matters”, says Richard King, sales manager for Hatton. “Accessories are all important as is the towel that adorns your golf or sports bag and to keep up with the demand for ever vibrant and varied colours, we decided to launch a completely new range of colours that can be woven.

Richard King added “There are over 7,500 golf clubs in the UK alone, some hosting the world’s most prestigious professional and corporate events on the golfing calendar and, with the introduction of so many new colours to our existing catalogue, we believe we can add further value to any brand identity or event”.

Hatton textiles Int Ltd, who have been producing a whole range of woven and embroidered products for the last 25 years and have an excellent reputation in their industry, are constantly striving to meet the requirements of their customers. Indeed, the company’s research and development process, through discussion with existing and new customers, allowed them to develop the 2011 Event Range.

Hatton Textiles produce towels for the world-wide market and are proud of a policy for small minimum orders; just 48 stock or 160 woven towels at a time.
The Event Towel is one of the best on the market benefitting from a 535gsm yarn dyed Velour finish, and a heavy duty karabiner hook.
